Conversation between Jean-Yves Le Drian and Iraqi Prime Minister (5 January 2020)

The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, had a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister, Adil Abdul-Mahdi. He stressed the importance of pursuing the fight against Daesh in Iraq and Syria as part of the Global Coalition Against Daesh, while fully respecting Iraq’s sovereignty. He and the Iraqi Prime Minister agreed to continue dialogue on this subject.
