Situation of Benjamin Brière - Q&A from the press briefing (15 March 2021)

Q : The lawyer of Benjamin Brière, the French tourist arrested in Iran 10 months ago, announced that his client was facing charges of “spying and propaganda against the system.” What’s your response to these charges?

A : Since his arrest, we have been closely monitoring the situation of our compatriot, who benefits from consular protection under the Vienna Convention of April 24, 1963. As such, our embassy in Tehran maintains regular contact with him.
