Iran - Q&A - Excerpts from the daily press briefing (28.09.17)

Q - What steps are you considering in order to get Iran to stop its ballistic missile activities?

A - France is deeply concerned at the continuation by Iran of its ballistic missile program.

The recent ballistic missile tests and launches by Iran do not comply with UNSCR 2231, which calls on Iran to refrain from activities related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons. The announcements of such launches, which violate UNSCR 2231, are also like to exacerbate tensions.

France calls on Iran to comply with all provisions of UNSCR 2231 and to put an end to all destabilizing activity in the region. President Macron mentioned his concern about this issue during his meeting with President Rohani on September 19 in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

We are looking at all possible diplomatic options.
