As the Minister had announced, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to France, Mr Mohammad Amin-Nejad, was summoned to the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on 15 April.

He was reminded in the strongest terms of France’s condemnation of the attack launched by Iran against Israel in the night of Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 April.

In launching this irresponsible attack, the Islamic Republic runs the risk of a conflagration in which nobody has an interest. These grave and unprecedented actions, which threaten the security of Israel and our partners and regional stability, must cease immediately.

France is working with its partners towards a de-escalation and calls for restraint from everyone.

The demand for the immediate release of our nationals arbitrarily held in Iran was reiterated.
