Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will travel to India on February 5 to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will be his second visit to the country since Mr. Modi took office in May 2014. Laurent Fabius will also meet with his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Environment, Forests & Climate Change, as well as with Suresh Prabhu, India’s Railway Minister.
This visit reflects the importance we attach to strengthening the French-Indian strategic partnership, an exceptional partnership due to its level of ambition and trust. It also forms part of the preparations for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. To that end, Laurent Fabius will attend the inauguration of the “Delhi Sustainable Development Summit,” a major annual event on sustainable development and climate.
The minister of foreign affairs and international development will be accompanied by a large delegation of French business leaders, representing the areas of renewable energy, transport, water supply, waste treatment and sustainable cities
