Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Amélie de Montchalin, Minister of State for European Affairs, are meeting today with Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgios Katrougalos.
Mr. Le Drian and Mr. Katrougalos will discuss international issues, notably the situation in Syria and in Libya, Mediterranean challenges and developments in the Western Balkans region, as well as the prospects for our bilateral relations.
Following President Macron’s state visit to Athens in September 2017 and Mr. Le Drian’s visit to Greece on September 6, this meeting will confirm the closeness and excellent quality of our bilateral relations, based on the strategic partnership for the future drawn up between our two countries on October 23, 2015.
Ms. de Montchalin and Mr. Katrougalos will also discuss the European issues that they will address at the next General Affairs Council, notably including the next Multiannual Financial Framework and rule of law issues.
