Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited Berlin on November 23 to take part in a ministerial meeting with his German and British counterparts focusing on Iran.
During the meeting, the minister reaffirmed France’s determination to ensure that Iran can never acquire a nuclear weapon and to continue the efforts undertaken in recent months to preserve the JCPOA, which has a key role to play in this respect. He also underscored the need to continue working toward finding solutions to strengthening regional security and stability. Lastly, the minister discussed with his counterparts the future of our strategy with respect to achieving these common goals, in collaboration with the other parties to the agreement brokered in Vienna and with the United States.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the minister met with his German colleague in order to prepare for the forthcoming European meetings on issues of common interest for our two countries.
