Harlem Désir, Minister of State for European Affairs and Secretary-General for French-German Cooperation, visit Berlin on November 4.
He will take part in a joint hearing together with his German counterpart, Michael Roth, before the Bundestag EU Affairs Committee. They will discuss the major current European issues, including the refugee crisis, the strengthening of the Economic and Monetary Union and the initiatives to promote the digital sector. The minister of state will also work with his counterpart on preparations for the next French-German Council of Ministers meeting in 2016.
Harlem Désir will also have meetings with Uwe Corsepius, EU Affairs Adviser to the German Chancellor. In the Bundestag, he will meet with Gunther Krichbaum, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Andreas Jung, Chairman of the French-German Friendship Group.
This visit falls in line with the regular exchanges between the two secretary-generals for French-German cooperation. Harlem Désir and Michael Roth are due to take part in a joint hearing before the European Affairs Committee of the National Assembly on December 9.
