Germany – Conversation between Jean-Yves Le Drian and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (29 Apr. 2022)

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian spoke today with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock.

The ministers discussed the European response to the war in Ukraine and spoke about continuing and stepping up support to that country. They also addressed the situation in Moldova and their shared determination to support that country as it faces the risk of stabilization.

Against this backdrop, the ministers also discussed threats to food security and reaffirmed their commitment to assisting countries in need, particularly within the framework of the French Presidency of the EU Council (through the FARM - Food and Agriculture Resilience Mission) and the German Presidency of the G7 (through the Global Food Security Initiative).
