Q - Do you think that the Gabonese opposition should lodge an appeal with the Constitutional Council following the results of the disputed presidential election?

A - France believes that a transparent and impartial review of the results of the presidential election is essential to resolving the crisis, because this is the best way to conclusively establish the fairness of the election.

That’s why Jean-Marc Ayrault has repeatedly called on the parties – as the UN, the EU, the African Union and the United States have also done - to use all possible means of appeal available under the constitution and the law.
