Jean-Yves Le Drian will receive his Finnish counterpart, Timo Soini, on October 5.
The ministers will take stock of current international and European issues, notably the proposals regarding the future of Europe and the strengthening of the Common Security and Defense Policy. They will also discuss our bilateral cooperation in various areas.
Our two countries have convergent views on many European and international issues, as the discussions between President Macron and Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila on September 22 demonstrated.
Timo Soini’s visit comes as Finland is preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its independence.
