The resumption of negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, with the recent meeting between foreign and irrigation ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan, at the initiative of the African Union under the South African presidency, is encouraging. Negotiations are the pathway to achieving a satisfactory solution for all three countries.
