Estonia-Latvia – Visit by Franck Riester (Sept. 13-15)

Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Estonia and Latvia from September 13 to 15.

The purpose of this visit is to strengthen our bilateral relations following the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic ties with those two countries. He is being accompanied by a delegation of French business representatives.

In Estonia, Mr. Riester spoke with the French business community. With Andres Sutt, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, he will address bilateral trade ties, French-Estonian cooperation on important fields for the future and sovereignty, EU trade policy with a view to the French EU presidency, transatlantic economic relations, and the EU’s economic relations with China. He will offer his Estonian interlocutors a presentation of what France has to offer in such strategic sectors as the energy transition, defense and industrial facilities. He will also meet with actors from the Estonian digital sector.

In Latvia, the Minister Delegate will meet with Economy Minister Jānis Vitenbergs and State Secretary for the Economy Edmunds Valantis. They will discuss the future priorities of the French EU Council presidency and avenues for bilateral cooperation involving sustainable development, especially in the transportation sector.
