Equatorial Guinea – Visit by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (27-28 July 2019)
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State, attached to Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, will visit Equatorial Guinea on July 27-28. He will join President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo in inaugurating the regional Naval Academy in Tica. Each year this school will train about 100 naval and other officers from some 15 African countries.
The regional Naval Academy in Tica is an example of the successful cooperation that exists between France and Equatorial Guinea. It is part of the “architecture for maritime security and safety in the Gulf of Guinea” decided on by the region’s heads of state in 2013 to deal with the illegal conduct affecting that maritime area.
During this visit, the minister will be hosted by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. He will also meet with Simeón Oyono Esono Angüe, the minister of foreign affairs and cooperation.
