In the face of the emergency situation in Equatorial Guinea following the tragedy in Bata, as Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, confirmed to President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, France is responding to Equatorial Guinea’s request for assistance.

France’s mobilization, coordinated by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will include a charter flight in the next few days containing a mobile health station that will allow the treatment of 250 seriously injured people and emergency medical and pediatric kits to treat about a thousand injured people and patients. Supplies to fight Covid will also be provided, as well as tents and cooking kits for those affected by the disaster. Working with the Operational Center for Interministerial Monitoring of Crises (COGIC), the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is also coordinating the arrival of 10 mine clearers from the civil security service.
