In response to the Tanzanian authorities’ request for assistance with the Covid-19 pandemic, France is taking action and establishing a solidarity program for the Tanzanian people.

This program, which is co-coordinated by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs’ Crisis and Support Center and the French Embassy in Tanzania, will use airfreight and ocean freight to deliver medical supplies, namely: oxygen generators and concentrators, Osiris 3-type transport ventilators, electric syringe drivers and 230,000 KN95-type masks.

These supplies, which are being provided in response to the authorities’ requests in light of the country’s health situation, are intended to help the Tanzanian government, provide assistance to the Tanzanian people and strengthen Tanzanian hospitals’ capacities.

The support offered by France brings together contributions from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for Solidarity and Health.

The humanitarian freight sent via maritime transport will be delivered thanks to support from the CMA CGM Foundation.

This program is part of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (EU CPM).
