Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited Egypt on June 8.
He met with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as well as with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and Minister of Defense Sedky Sobhi.
He discussed regional issues with his interlocutors, especially the situation in Libya, regarding which we maintain close dialogue, as well as our bilateral cooperation.
Jean-Yves Le Drian met with Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, and offered his condolences to him, as well as to the wider Coptic community, in the wake of the attack in Minya on May 26.
