A - France was the sixth-largest investor in Egypt in 2016, with a volume of FDI estimated at €3.5 billion, its seventh-largest supplier, and its 13th-largest client. France is the recipient of 2.1% of Egyptian exports.
Our bilateral trade rose during the first eight months of 2017, with our exports up 9.2% (€1.1 billion) and our imports up 21% (€401.4 million). Our 10th-largest trade surplus is with Egypt.
More than 160 French companies are located in Egypt, where they employ nearly 30,000 people in a wide variety of sectors, including industry, agribusiness, electrical installations, pharmaceuticals, distribution, hydrocarbons, and tourism.
