Egypt – Attack in the city of el-Arish (5 June 2019)

France utterly condemns the attack that took place yesterday - for which the terrorist organization Daesh has claimed responsibility - targeted against the Egyptian security forces in the city of el-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula, which left several police officers dead.

France extends its condolences to the families of the police officers who died and to the Egyptian people who have been plunged into mourning following this attack during the festival of Eid al-Fitr. It reaffirms its solidarity with Egypt in its fight against terrorism, and its full commitment to defeating this scourge.
