Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will be in Ecuador on December 8.
He will be hosted by Ecuador’s President, Guillermo Lasso, and he will meet with Julio José Prado, Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries; Simón Cueva, Minister of Economy and Finance; Juan Carlos Bermeo, Minister of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources; and Marcelo Cabrera, Minister of Transportation and Public Works.
Mr. Riester will be accompanied by a delegation of French company representatives with the goal of strengthening economic ties between Ecuador and France and promoting French expertise, especially in the areas of transportation, water, sanitation and energy infrastructures.
During his visit, he will meet with the French business community and will visit a chocolate factory built with French investments that has adopted ethical practices with regard to sustainable development and working with small producers.
The Minister Delegate will sign a subsidy agreement with the French Development Agency (AFD) aimed at developing a biobased economy sector in the Amazon.
