Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited Djibouti from December 12 to 14. This visit follows on from President Macron’s visit in March 2019. It provided an opportunity to reaffirm France’s determination to preserve and strengthen its close ties with Djibouti, on the economic, cultural, political as well as security fronts.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne was received by Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti, and met with Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The minister of state met with representatives of the French community. He visited the forces françaises stationnées à Djibouti (FFDj) military base in Djibouti and inaugurated a new digital movie theater at the Institut français in Djibouti, in the presence of several members of the Djibouti government.
