Denmark – Finland – Visit by Jean-Marc Ayrault (December 8 to 9, 2016)

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, visited Copenhagen and Helsinki from December 8 to 9.

In Copenhagen, he met with his new Danish counterpart, Anders Samuelsen, and with the Danish economic and cultural community. He will visit the site of the February 14, 2015, attack and paid tribute to the victims, alongside Ambassador Zimeray who was there at the time of the shooting.

Jean-Marc Ayrault then visited Helsinki, where he was received by President Sauli Niinistö, and by his counterpart, Timo Soini. This visit notably provided an opportunity to take stock of current European issues, ahead of the European Council on December 15, and in particular the Common Security and Defense Policy and relations with Russia.
