Democratic Republic of the Congo – Death of Cardinal Monsengwo (13 July 2021)

France pays tribute to Cardinal Monsengwo and offers its sincere condolences to his loved ones and to the Congolese people. An eminent figure in the Catholic Church and in the political and social life of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cardinal Monsengwo contributed decisively, through his authority, courage and committed humanism, to the democratization process in the country and the preservation of its unity.
