Q - What is your response to the Czech Republic’s decision to no longer accept refugees in accordance with the agreement among Europeans concluded in 2015?
A - The Council of the European Union made decisions in 2015 on the relocation and resettlement of asylum seekers. These measures were aimed at showing solidarity with the countries of first entry.
Some member states have brought an action for the annulment of one of these relocation decisions. This is not the case for the Czech Republic.
These appeals are being examined by the Court of Justice of the European Union, but do not have suspensory effect.
France shares the position of the European Commission, which believes that the decisions made by the EU must be implemented.
