Nathalie Loiseau, Minister for European Affairs, will receive Milena Hrdinková, the new state secretary for European Affairs of the Czech Republic, today.
This meeting falls within the framework of the action plan of the strategic partnership between our two countries, the importance of which was reaffirmed during President Macron’s visit to Prague on October 26 and 27, 2018. Ms. Loiseau will, in particular, commend the French-Czech initiatives in support of culture and knowledge, notably through the promotion of our exceptional scientific and academic exchanges.
The two ministers will discuss the main current European issues: They will take stock of Brexit preparations, the European elections, the “mobility package,” the next European post-2020 budget, the European policy on asylum and migration and preparations for the successive presidencies of the Council of the European Union, which our two countries will hold in 2022.
Ms. Loiseau will also discuss the issues at stake for the French presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, from May 17 to November 27, 2019, the theme of which will be “A Europe of Values.”
