On June 7, the Institut Français de Chypre welcomed 80 scientists of 25 nationalities for an archeological lecture by Professor Jean-Denis Vigne, director of research at the CNRS, on the beginnings of the Neolithic period in Cyprus.
This initiative is part of a partnership with the University of Cyprus and the Antiquities Department.
It involves such French partners as the Ecole Française d’Athènes, the CNRS, and the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle.
This event illustrates the dynamic scientific cooperation between France and Cyprus within a regional context. It also highlights the richness of our archeological cooperation. Four French missions have been conducting excavations in Cyprus for years.
