Côte d’Ivoire – Visit by Jean-Yves Le Drian (9 – 10 June 2021)

Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit Côte d’Ivoire from June 9 to 10 to take part in the inauguration ceremony for the International Counterterrorism Academy. The minister will be received by Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, in order to discuss our bilateral relations, the political situation in Mali and the collective efforts to promote security in the region.

The minister will reaffirm France’s commitment alongside the countries in the region to the fight against terrorism and will underscore the importance of the role of Gulf of Guinea countries in combating this threat from the Sahel. Jean-Yves Le Drian will express our support for the International Counterterrorism Academy. This international academy is a single platform for education, research, training and cooperation for all states in the region involved in the fight against terrorism.
