Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Côte d’Ivoire today, November 26, 2019, in order to take part in the 5th edition of the International Exhibition of Agriculture and Animal Resources (SARA) today in Abidjan, which is highlighting France this year. The minister of state will visit the French pavilion which is hosting 60 exhibitors, where he will meet with French firms and institutional stakeholders (Research Institute for Development (IRD), Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD)).
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne will meet with the prime minister of Côte d’Ivoire as well as with the minister of African integration and Ivorians abroad. They will notably discuss bilateral cooperation projects, political issues and regional security matters.
During his trip, the minister of state will also visit the Lycée Jules Verne and the Lycée Blaise Pascal, which are part of the network of French schools abroad. He will meet with representatives of the French community and the education community to discuss the plan for developing French education abroad, launched on October 3 in Paris by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and the Minister for National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, as well as the outlook for the network in Côte d’Ivoire, where eight schools approved by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) are attended by almost 9,000 students.
