Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, visited Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai from October 29 to November 1.
High-level meetings with the Chinese authorities were scheduled to take place in order to take stock of our bilateral relations.
In Chengdu, Jean-Marc Ayrault opened the 5th French-Chinese Conference on Decentralized Cooperation, which provided an opportunity to strengthen the ties between our territories and to promote France’s appeal, notably for Chinese investment and tourism. So far, more than 100 French and Chinese local authorities are involved in implementing almost 132 projects focusing on academic, cultural and economic exchanges and sustainable development.
In Shanghai, Jean-Marc Ayrault notably met with local authorities, French business leaders and the French community.
