Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marc Ayrault received Liu Yandong, the Chinese Vice Premier, on June 30. They co-chaired the third session of the Franco-Chinese high-level dialogue on human exchanges.
This dialogue was established by the heads of state during the state visit to France by President Xi Jinping in March 2014.
It encourages exchanges in the areas of education, professional training, science, technology, health, culture, tourism and regional cooperation. It will also help us expand our relationship in the area of athletics, with China hosting the 2020 Winter Olympics in Beijing, and to strengthen cooperation in the music, television, and film industries. Youth issues, women’s rights, and gender equality will also be on the agenda.
A joint statement as well as a dozen cooperation agreements will be signed during the plenary session, which will bring together 250 leading figures from France and China.
