In 2014, France and China will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. This event will be an opportunity to emphasize once again the quality of the relations between our two countries and to highlight all aspects of them, notably in the economic, cultural, scientific, education and tourism fields.

The minister of foreign affairs and the minister of culture and communication have asked Alain Mérieux, President of the Institut Mérieux, to chair the patrons committee. Building on his longstanding working relationship with China, Alain Mérieux will focus his attention on promoting the organization and success of the celebrations scheduled to take place in 2014. Marc Piton and Catherine Ruggeri-Ahmadi will contribute to their success, as commission-general and associate commissioner, respectively, for the 2014 celebrations.
