Chad - Q&A from the press briefing (14 April 2021)

Q : The Chadian government stated that the situation was “completely under control” following a rebel incursion in the northern part of the country. Has it asked Paris to intervene with Operation Barkhane aircraft? The joint chiefs referred us to the Quai d’Orsay.

A : France is concerned at the incursion by members of an armed group in the northern part of Chad in recent days, with the express purpose of seizing power. France is closely monitoring developments in the situation and strongly condemns any attempt to seize power by force.
