Q: On Sunday, the military junta that has ruled Chad for more than a year postponed the reconciliation dialogue scheduled for May 10, before the elections, to an unspecified “later” date, while preliminary negotiations with the rebels are dragging on in Qatar. What is France’s reaction?

A: France reaffirms its commitment to holding a dialogue as soon as possible that includes all of the country’s social and political forces in a climate conducive to seeking a consensus. France supports efforts being made in that direction by Chadian authorities and stakeholders with the support of Qatar and Chad’s international partners.
