France condemns in the strongest possible terms the unacceptable violence that occurred yesterday in Chad. We convey our condolences to the families in mourning and our best wishes for a speedy recovery to those who were wounded. France calls for an end to all forms of violence, wherever it may arise.

France reiterates the importance of a peaceful transition that guarantees respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in order to successfully organize free and credible elections and allow for a return to constitutional order.
