Chad – France applauds the start of an inclusive, sovereign national dialogue (N’Djamena, August 20, 2022)

France applauds the start of an inclusive, sovereign national dialogue, which began last Saturday in N’Djamena. This marks a major step forward in Chad’s transition as the country works to create a new social contract that will benefit all Chadians.

France calls on all those in Chad who feel compelled to take part in this consultation on the future of the country to do so and urges all stakeholders to act responsibly in order to ensure that the consultation will be a success.

Together with all of Chad’s international partners, France remains available to continue supporting the transition process in order to facilitate a return to constitutional order and to the organization of free, transparent elections.
