Chad – Communiqué issued by the President of the Republic and the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo about the situation in Chad (27 Apr. 2021)

France and the Democratic Republic of the Congo strongly condemn the crackdown on demonstrations in Chad and demand an end to all forms of violence.

They reiterate their support for an inclusive transition process, open to all Chad’s political forces, led by a civilian government of national unity, and which should lead the country to elections within 18 months.

They express their backing for the support efforts made by the African Union and reiterate their commitment to Chad’s stability and integrity.
