Central African Republic – Violence (October 24, 2016)


France condemns the violence surrounding the demonstrations in Bangui yesterday which left 4 people dead and 12 others injured, according to the latest reports available.

It issues a warning to all those who would seek to stand in the way of reconciliation among the people of the Central African Republic led by the authorities that emerged from the elections and underscores that the perpetrators of the violence must be held accountable for their acts.

France denounces the provocations and attacks against MINUSCA and reaffirms its full support to it in implementing its mandate to protect civilians and stabilize the Central African Republic.

We again assure President Touadéra and the Central African Republic authorities of the determination of France and the entire international community to support their action to promote the recovery of the Central African Republic, in accordance with the expectations expressed by the population of the Central African Republic as a whole.
