Central African Republic – Attack on UN peacekeepers (8 May 2017)

France condemns the May 8 attack on a convoy of UN peacekeepers in the Central African Republic that killed a Cambodian peacekeeper and left several injured, particularly from the Moroccan contingent.

Another four peacekeepers were reported missing.

We offer our condolences to the victims’ families and to the Cambodian authorities. We assure Morocco of our solidarity. It is important to identify those responsible for this attack in order to bring them to justice.

France reiterates its full support for the work being carried out by MINUSCA and its contingents to stabilize the Central African Republic and protect civilian populations.
