France condemns the attack on MINUSCA that killed a Mauritanian peacekeeper on December 4 in Bria.
We offer our condolences to the victim’s family and to the Mauritanian authorities.
France reiterates its full support for the work carried out by MINUSCA, which is paying a heavy toll for conducting its mission. It is in this context that the UN Security Council approved a significant increase in troop levels (an additional 900 military personnel).
This attack underscores the need to move forward rapidly with the implementation of the joint roadmap for peace and reconciliation in the CAR adopted on July 17 in Libreville, and aimed at effectively disarming armed groups.
