Central African Republic – Attack against MINUSCA (23 August 2018)


France condemns the attack carried out against the town of Pavika (Basse-Kotto prefecture) on August 23, which killed a Burundian peacekeeper with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

We extend our condolences to the victim’s family as well as to the Burundian authorities and people.

France pays tribute to the commitment of the troop-contributing countries, as well as to the work of MINUSCA. It reaffirms its full support for the efforts of the Central African Republic authorities to promote their country’s recovery.
