Annick Girardin, minister of state responsible for development and Francophony, will attend an international conference on May 26 on the Central African Republic. That country’s president, Catherine Samba-Panza, will also be there.
This meeting will focus on the country’s reconstruction and the disbursement of the EU’s innovative “Bêkou” trust fund. The challenge is to continue mobilizing our efforts to help the Central African Republic complete its transition and facilitate its citizens’ access to social and administrative services.
Ms. Girardin will also take part in the council of European development ministers, which will discuss development financing, the post-2015 agenda, gender equality, migration, and the connection between security and development. In addition, she will attend a working dinner with UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to prepare for this year’s major meetings: the international conference on development financing in July, the special summit on sustainable development September, and the Paris Climate Conference at the end of the year.
