Canada – Meeting between Franck Riester and Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade (2 Sept. 20)

Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will speak today with Mary Ng, Canadian Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade.

This first meeting between the minister delegate and his counterpart will provide an opportunity to discuss the health situation in France and Canada, as well as the measures introduced by the two governments to support foreign trade and economic recovery. The two ministers will also take stock of the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the EU and Canada, as well as the priorities of our bilateral relations and the prospects for strengthening trade and cross investment, which have experienced a positive momentum in recent years.

The two ministers will also discuss their priorities for strengthening the multilateral trade system, notably through the WTO’s role and in preparation for the next G20 Trade Ministers Meeting.
