Cameroon – Launch of a major national dialogue (10 Sept. 2019)

President Biya has announced the launch of a national dialogue before the end of the month in Cameroon.

France hopes that this dialogue, the announcement of which is a positive step, will allow broad consultations to take place, paving the way for a peaceful resolution of the crisis in the Southwest and Northwest regions of the country. It reaffirms its condemnation of the use of any form of violence.

France underscores its attachment to dialogue and the freedom of expression across the political spectrum.
