Cameroon (05 Oct. 19)

France welcomes the order to drop the prosecution of 102 members or sympathizers of the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC), including the party’s leader, Maurice Kamto, and their release on October 5.

It also welcomes the decision to release 333 people being held in connection with the crisis in the northeastern and southeastern regions, as part of the national dialogue just held in Yaoundé. France applauds the commitment of Cameroon’s authorities to implement the conclusions of that dialogue.

France encourages the authorities and all political leaders to maintain the current momentum in the spirit of dialogue and harmony.
