Burkina Faso - Visit by Jean-Yves Le Drian (11 June 2021)

Following his visit to Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia, Jean-Yves le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Burkina Faso today, June 11.

He will be received by President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, to whom he will express France’s wholehearted solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso in the wake of the horrific attacks in Solhan and Tadaryat during the night of June 4 to 5.

The minister will reaffirm France’s determination to support Burkina Faso in the fight against terrorism and to support the efforts to promote stabilization and development, notably within the framework of the Coalition for the Sahel.

The minister will also address the regional situation, especially the political situation in Mali.
