Burkina Faso - Q&A from the press briefing (5 February 2021)

Q : Yesterday the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso did not rule out negotiations between his government and jihadist groups. What is France’s position on this issue?

A : We are engaged in the Sahel at the request of the countries of the region. France’s resolve to continue the common battle against the terrorists who threaten us is absolute.

Since the Pau Summit, this fight has in fact recently inflicted major blows on terrorist movements.

As part of the International Coalition for the Sahel, France is also mobilized in support of the G5 Sahel countries to bring a multidimensional response to the crisis in the Sahel.
