Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia - Bulgaria (1 August 2017)

France welcomes the signing on August 1 by Prime Ministers Zoran Zaev and Boiko Borissov of an agreement on friendship, good neighborly relations and cooperation between the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Bulgaria.

It hopes that this agreement will allow Skopje and Sofia to strengthen their dialogue and their cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields in particular, and that it will foster stability in the Balkan region.

France reaffirms that good neighborly relations and regional cooperation are key to the European rapprochement process.

They contribute to prosperity, stability and reconciliation and help establish a climate that is conducive to resolving bilateral disputes and overcoming problems inherited from the past.
