Q: U.S. President Joe Biden said publicly that force could be used to defend Taiwan in the event of a military attack by the People’s Republic of China. What does France say?

R: As an Indo-Pacific nation, France is committed to respecting the status quo. It reaffirms its support for the development of peaceful relations between the two sides of the strait and encourages dialogue for that purpose.
