Q: What is your position on the future of the Minsk Group, which is co-chaired by France?

A: As a bilateral partner and in its capacity as both President of the Council of the European Union and Co-Chair of the Minsk Group, France reaffirms its full commitment to promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.

In its different roles, France continues to work with Armenia and Azerbaijan to make headway on humanitarian issues, support efforts to delineate the border, open up the region, preserve heritage, secure a peace treaty between the two countries and resolve the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was the thrust of the videoconference held on February 4 at the initiative of the French President with the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan and the President of the European Council.

Furthermore, the French Co-Chair of the Minsk Group is currently on a working visit to Yerevan.
