Q: What role does France intend to play to ease tensions in the South Caucasus?

A: France is mobilizing all its efforts in this regard and we will continue to offer our support for negotiated solutions to all pending issues. In the wake of President Macron’s recent discussions with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts, Ambassador Brice Roquefeuil, France’s Special Envoy for the South Caucasus, will travel to Baku this week and then on to Yerevan. He will also travel to Georgia to enhance our dialogue with the Georgian authorities on all areas of shared interest, particularly relations with the EU and regional issues.
